They have a population of approximately 60,000 inhabitants and they live in the north region of Argentina, in the provinces of Salta, Formosa and Chaco.

Women's traditional artisan work includes weaving chaguar vegetable fiber, which they dye using roots, fruits and leafs.
Men carve palo santo wood, which is very hard and perfumed, using dry logs they collect in the mount.

Nowadays, most of the communities live from fishing, hunting and collecting fruits in addition to some occasional jobs and government aid plans.
